Navigating Civic Issues
Session Description:
Meet local civic leaders, visit government centers, and learn how you can address issues in our community.
Session elements:
- County government simulation
- Tour of Tippecanoe County Courthouse, West Lafayette and Lafayette City Halls
- Meet your local elected leaders

Education, Belonging & Youth Advocacy
Session Description:
Meet with community partners and program alumni, learn how you can advocate for all members of our community, and explore where you can support youth to learn, grow, and thrive.

- Community partner luncheon

Team Development & Conflict Resolution
Session Description:
Explore ways to work with others in personal, professional, and servant leadership situations. Engage in team building activities where theory meets practice.

- Facilitation session: strategic team dynamics
- Escape room experience

Exploring Nonprofit Organizations
Session Description:
Learn about roles and responsibilities for volunteer service in the nonprofit sector. Explore how you can best serve in our community.

- Intro to nonprofit organization structure
- Crash course in board member service
- Additional volunteer opportunity and roles

The Human Services Experience
Session Description:
Experience a simulated month in the life of an individual living at 200% poverty level.
Learn how to advocate for and support others in our community. Explore local
organizations where you can make a difference.
Session elements:
- Intro to ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) poverty simulator
- Experience poverty simulation
- Health & Human Service scavenger hunt kick-off

Collaborative Leadership
Session Description:
Learn tools for convening volunteers, organizations, and community partners around
shared issues that can lead to positive outcomes and benefit others.
Session elements:
- Engaging stakeholders to solve community issues
- Deep-dive into case studies
- Learn the stakeholder engagement process

Arts, Culture & Community
Session Description:
Learn tools for convening volunteers, organizations, and community partners around
shared issues that can lead to positive outcomes and benefit others.
Elements:
- Touring visual and performing art venues
- Exploring Greater Lafayette’s rich history
- Learning how to engage with local art and culture

Identifying Your Community Service Passion
Session Description:
Make your personal plan for service in our community as you explore where and
how you want to get involved. We will synthesize lessons learned throughout the
program to guide your personal servant leadership path within our community.

Capstone Project: Leadership Lafayette Volunteer Expo
Session Description:
Class 53 presents their capstone project as a gift to Greater Lafayette. The
Leadership Lafayette Volunteer Expo brings people together to partner with
nonprofit organizations and strengthen our community.
May 15 | 4pm-6pm
Class 54 Graduation Celebration
Session Description:
Join us for a celebration with family, friends, and community partners highlighting the accomplishments of our Community Leadership Program Graduates.
