One year down…

It’s been one year since I became the Program Administrator for Leadership Lafayette and I’ve loved every minute of it.  Well, except those few minutes when we weren’t sure if lunch was going to show up that one time.  But it did, no one went hungry, and I don’t think many people noticed.  Whew!

For anyone that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, hello!  I’m Kelsey Sutherlin.  If Kitty were introducing me, she’d tell you I’m a graduate of Class 47 and my top character strength is humor.  What can I say?  I have a gift.  And I believe laughter makes life better.

I would also add that I’m quite skilled in avoiding the camera, as proven by my unfruitful search to find any photos of myself to include in this post.  (I’m OK with it, though.)

Year One with LL has been all about meeting people, learning schedules, and trying not to forget any details.  My main responsibilities include class session logistics and planning, general behind-the-scenes shenanigans, and all the social media.  I’m excited for Year Two and the many new ideas floating around in my head!  One idea in particular: this blog.  I’ve been begging Kitty for a blog and with our website redesign, my wish has come true!  Writing is a love of mine and I’m excited to be able to share more about Leadership Lafayette through these posts.

As a Lafayette native – born & raised with a short stint in Nashville, TN – I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of the Leadership Lafayette team.  I truly love this community and love sharing how special it is with anyone who will listen (shameless plug: check out my Instagram Living Lafayette)!  I’m grateful to Kitty and the Board for allowing me this opportunity to make an impact in my hometown.  Thank you so much to everyone that has made this year amazing- from your kind words of encouragement to your patience with me while I’m still learning the ropes. 🙂  I am looking forward to welcoming Class 49 in just two weeks!
